Church groups, school leadership programs,
summer enrichment activities, college
preparatory programs are some of the types of youth focused organizations
that have benefited from the programming offered at the TeamLeadership
Center.
The high ropes-low ropes course can
be the focus of
one or more days of activities.
We do offer other on site programming opportunities.
One such opportunity is “Mission
Possible” a compass orienteering course design to familiarize the novice student
with the use of a compass, pacing to measure distance and problem solving
in a team context on our fifty acre "practice field".
All of our youth programming includes
activities that are designed first and foremost to be fun but to also
teach very practical “hard skills“ such as proper belaying techniques
to keep someone safe while climbing, safety procedures and proper use
of equipment, compass use and map reading.
As participants are having fun and learning very practical skills
we work on “soft skills” such as improving
communication skills, recognizing multiple learning styles, building
trust, improving problem solving skills through the use of real challenges
that require tactical and strategic planning and execution. Our program
is designed to demonstrate the power
of collaborative effort and the strength of diversity.
TeamLeadership
Center also offers a Myers-Briggs Type Indicatorâ
personality inventory workshop for groups of individuals sixteen (16)
years of age or older. We use the MBTIâ as a tool
for better understanding our individual roles in the teambuilding and
leadership activities we do and also the team dynamics.
